Review of Rivership Romance

The Rivership Romance is a dinner cruise of the St. John's river in Sanford, FL. It is something we have been wanting to do for a while, so since we are leaving in 4 days, my hubby's parents were sweet enough to take us there. So here is my review of it.

It is a little pricey, but you can get a good deal. We went to this site and got a coupon for $100 off a $200 check. It is around $50 per person, so we got 5 people on the dinner dance cruise for around $150. Sodas and cocktails are extra. The artichoke dip with pita chips appetizer was wonderful.

The food was excellent. The mashed potatoes were made from real redskin potatoes and the broccoli was cooked just right. The meats were all good and the steak was huge. The only problem was that my sister-in-law did not like the vegeterian lasagna. It was more like a veggie alfredo. Also, you don't get a dessert choice. All they had was cheesecake which I don't like.

The service was lacking. After we got our first round of waters, it was probably half an hour before we got our sodas or water refills. It was as if they did not have enough staff for the number of people there.

The dance floor is tiny, slippery, and uneaven. It serves it's purpose, just be mindfull when you step so your feet don't fly out from under you.

The entertainment was pretty good. They had two live singers at the dance floor which plays through the ship all evening. However, other than walking around the ship, dancing, listening to the music, and talking, there isn't much to actually entertain you.

Overall, it was really nice. My inlaws have done it like 5 times now, so it is worth going. I'm not sure that it is really worth the price, so look into the coupon if you are planning on going.
